The European Power Exchange EPEX SPOT and its affiliates operate physical short-term electricity markets in Central Western Europe and the United Kingdom. As part of EEX Group, a group of companies serving international commodity markets, EPEX SPOT is committed to the creation of a pan-European power market. 49% of its equity is held by HGRT, a holding of transmission system operators.
We are looking for a motivated intern for our corporate communications and commercial activities.
Based within the External communications team, your main missions will include the following:
Press Relations: operational support for press relations activities.
Drafts press releases and manages dispatch process as well as aftercare
Establishes updated contact lists of editorial teams of key newspapers in new market areas (Poland, Nordic countries, ...)
Supports during organisation of press events
Prepares press reviews
Corporate Communications: analyse state of external communications material and recommend improvements.
Manages corporate photo library and identifies axes of improvement
Plans photoshoots to build a solid basis of corporate communications material
Corporate Image, Commercial Support: oversees consistency of corporate image throughout EPEX documentation, internal and external materials
Reviews and updates internal and external documents (PPT, Word) to make sure they are fit for publication
Keeps Office templates up to date as well as Communications and Commercial presentations and communications
Support for External Events 2023:
Support for preparation customer events (workshops, webinars …)
Support for preparation of conferences and trade-fairs (Eworld 2023, SmartEn, …)
Social Media and Corporate Website: updates Website and co-manages Social Media profiles of the company
Updates Corporate website upon request from colleagues
Drafts and publishes Social Media posts for the company accounts (LinkedIn & Twitter)
Contributes to establishing and monitoring analytics of website and social media performance
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Technical skills:
Good knowledge of communication tools (LinkedIn, Twitter) and software (Microsoft Pack Office, Canva, Photoshop, Pardot)
Good verbal and written communication skills
Soft skills:

You have good analytical skills and are curious
You are proactive and eager to learn
You have good capacity to listen and to summarise
You have an appetite for European environments
EDUCATION
Bachelor or Master degree in communication or related fields
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Fluent in English and possibly also French and German, further languages would be an asset
EXPERIENCE
Experience in Social Media Management and Analytics are a plus
Knowledge of commodity markets is a plus
